Texas State Optical has been a fixture in Bryan since 1954. Dr. Erwin Luedemann operated TSO in downtown Bryan until 1984 when Dr. Phillips assumed ownership. We left downtown Bryan in 1995 and moved to East 29th St. near the St. Joseph Regional Health Center complex. On June 1, 2010 we moved to The Physicians Centre at 3201 University Dr. East.

During those years Bryan and College Station have seen huge changes, and TSO has changed along with them. At TSO we combine the latest technology and years of experience to give you thorough eye examinations and fashionable, affordable eyewear. We utilize state -of- the -art Optomap retinal imaging, corneal specular microscopy, optical coherence tomography, autorefraction/keratometry, computerized non-contact tonometry,  visual fields testing utilizing frequency doubling technology, as well as the i-Point VTO System.  In November, 2009 our office converted to electronic medical records in order to better maintain and manage our patient records.  Dr. Phillips and his staff of eye care professionals are ready and willing to help you see and look your best.

Our move to The Physicians Centre demonstrates our commitment to being the premier Optometric practice and optical retailer in The Brazos Valley with an emphasis on quality and service.  The new office provides greater efficiencies to better accommodate our expanding technology and an optical unlike any other, with a unique selection of eyewear you won't find anywhere else locally.  We are definitely not your mama's TSO!

Texas State Optical has been taking care of the eyes of Texas since 1936. We are proud to be part of the TSO family of independent Optometrists which is built on a foundation of patient focused care and quality products that stand the test of time. Our Doctors of Optometry and experienced Opticians continue to support these core values that have remained unchanged throughout the years.  At TSO of Bryan we may have changed, but our values have not.

Our office hours are Mon&Wed 8:30- 5:00, Tues&Thurs. 8:30-6:00, and Fri 8:30 -3:00.
