Texas State Optical has been taking care of the eyes of Texas since 1936, and Dr. Montemayor has been a part of the TSO family since 1986. In 1989, he took over the TSO West Oaks office when it was located inside West Oaks Mall. Since then, Dr. Montemayor has moved the office out of the mall, has added two more Therapeutic Optometrists to his team, and has many more patients coming back to see him.

Dr. Montemayor and his associates are always providing the latest technology during eye examinations. Currently, we are housing the new OptoMap, which takes retinal pictures that allow the doctor to see more in depth into the eye without the need for dilation. If you are having any vision problems, or you want to make sure you eyes are healthy, you may be a good candidate for this test.  We are now proud to offer Optos digital imaging at both our West Oaks and Rosenberg locations. The Optos proprietary ultra-widefield retinal imaging technology lets you see more retina…easier.   The Optos digital image provides an unprecedented 200° view that enables practitioners to more effectively detect, monitor and promote patient health.

TSO West Oaks also has a wonderful selection of frames for you to choose from, and Dr. Montemayor, along with providing great service, also provides some of the most fashionable eyewear around town.
