Steve Stanfield, OD, is a Therapeutic Optometrist who has been taking care of the eye care needs of Texas State Optical patients at his San Marcos office since 1987. He also owns and operates a TSO office in Austin. 

Dr. Stanfield is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Houston and a 1983 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry where he graduated as a Doctor of Optometry at the age of 25. He has served on the Texas State Optical Board of Directors and the TSO Advertising Committee since 2001 and is a recognized leader in patient care policy. He has built solid relationships with his patients and their families and says he especially enjoys interacting with patients that often include many members of the same family. 

Although he was born in Pasadena, Texas, Dr. Stanfield's heart has always been in Central Texas and in particular San Marcos. He has served as a member of the Wimberley School Board and is active in his church. He enjoys spending time and working with his wife, Amy. He also enjoys his two children, Cari and Cody. He is an avid jogger and loves the outdoors, especially the beach and mountains.
